According to reports from AS, Sevilla director of football Monchi has received a ‘dizzying offer’ from Manchester United.

The former goalkeeper, who made just 85 league appearances during his ten-year spell in the Sevilla senior squad, took the role in 2000 and has been one of the bedrocks behind their success since.

Indeed, Monchi has overseen the development and subsequent sales of Alberto Moreno, Jesus Navas, Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic to name a few.

That has translated into Sevilla’s efforts on the pitch, with the La Liga outfit claiming three consecutive Europa League titles – including last season’s – to become the most successful club in the tournament’s history.

According to AS, Monchi is set to leave Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this summer and although there appear to be other clubs in the mix, he’s believed to have received a ‘dizzying offer’ from Manchester United.

Fresh managerial appointment Jose Mourinho, who was confirmed last Friday, appears particularly keen on adding Monchi to United’s hierarchy.
