Liverpool are ready to make a €30m swoop on Real Madrid for talented midfielder Matteo Kovacic this summer, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central

Despite his standing as one of the premier youngsters on the continent, a mega money switch to the Spanish capital from Inter Milan over the summer has not worked out quite as hoped for the 21-year old.

Ironically enough, he became a Los Blancos player under the stewardship of former Reds chief Rafa Benitez, though has fallen further down the pecking order under current coach Zinedine Zidane.

The engine room at the Santiago Bernabeu is packed to the rafters with high levels of talent and the Croatia international has been unable to force his way onto first-team proceedings often.

Now, the report claims Jurgen Klopp is ready to pounce on his ongoing situation with the La Liga giants and make a €30m move as he looks to mould a Liverpool side in his own image.
