CL giants respond after being offered shock transfer deal for Liverpool star

According to The Sunday Times, Barcelona have snubbed the chance to sign Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne.

The former Southampton star hasn’t exactly uprooted trees since moving to Anfield last summer, despite going on to make 38 appearances across all competitions last season, but is still rated as one of best right-backs in the Premier League.

According to The Times (see below), the 25-year-old has grown frustrated with his status under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, even though the German gaffer called upon him frequently last term, and his services have resultantly been offered to Barcelona.

The El Clasico giants are in need of a replacement for three-time Champions League winner Dani Alves, who sealed a move to Serie A champions Juventus earlier this summer, but they’ve decided against making a move for Clyne.

The England international made just one appearance at Euro 2016, starting in a scoreless draw with Slovakia in the Group Stages.
